*24*     Conradt Hantelmann (1778-1863)

Short description

Conradt Hantelmann,

born: 31 March 1778 in Ibbenbüren, evangelisch-lutherisch, and died 23 Feb 1863 in Ibbenbüren, aged 85

Father: Christian Hantelmann

Mother: Christine Elisabeth Hantelmann, née Huenfeld (This might be a variant of Hünfeld or Hühnfeld.)

Marriage: Conradt Hantelmann, Occupation: "Kaufmann" (merchant or shopkeeper), married Anna Sophia Schulze on 8 Nov 1806; no place given.

Not attested.

Here are the Huenfelds: Note one of them married in Ibbenbüren, one of our ancestral towns.  Also another who emigrated to St Louis Missouri, like another potentially related person.

1. Antonie Ernestine HUENFELD - Sex: F Marriage: 9 Jun 1861 Scheibenberg, Chemnitz, Sachsen

2. Antonie Ernestine HUENFELD - Sex: F Birth: 10 Feb 1840 Scheibenberg, Chemnitz, Sachsen

3. BERNARDUS HENRICUS TEN HUENFELD - Sex: M Marriage: 16 Jul 1771 Sankt Marien Roemisch-Katholische, Alstaette Ahaus, Westfalen, Preussen

4. Johann Gerdt HUENFELD - Sex: M Marriage: 19 Sep 1801 Evangelisch, Ibbenbueren, Westfalen, Preussen

5. Charlotte HUENFELD - Sex: F Marriage: 17 May 1873 Saint Louis, St Louis, Missouri

Here are the Hantelmanns, if one wants to try to go further back:

Fifty-nine ancient Hantelmanns all over the world.

Watch out for the following: There are two "Elsabein" and one "Elsaben"; this looks like all the same person.  Strange that Elsabein (like in Elsabein Wegmann) seems to function like a Christian name.  Could it be that Elsabein is an ancient variant of "Elisabeth"?  They may all be the same persons.

In Klaus Bung's documents: Anna Maria Elsabein, née Wegmann, is married to Jörgen Heinrich Hilgemann and is mother of Heinrich Hilgemann.

In the list below (and the electronic documents behind it) the following is asserted:

21. Anna Elsabein HANTELMANN - Marriage: 20 Oct 1708, Halle, Westfalen, Preussen

15. Anna Maria Elsabein HANTELMANN - baptised on 19 Jul 1744 in Halle, Westfalen, Preussen (No 21 could be the mother of No 15, having given birth at the age of 36.)

25. Anna Maria Elsaben HANTELMANN - Sex: F Marriage: 27 Jul 1771 Evangelisch, Halle Stadt, Westfalen, Preussen (No 25 probably identical with No 15, getting married at the age of 27)

Now compare this with Elsabein Wegmann, No *29* on the written Ahnentafel:

Anna Maria Hilgemann, "née Anna Maria Elsabein Wegmann", born 3 March 1784 in Lengerich (Cologne/Köln area), and died 24 April 1851 in Lienen (near Osnabrück), aged 66 (Klaus Bung guesses that she is not directly related to the other Elsabeins.  Thalia, puzzle it out.  KB is getting tired.)

Perhaps Elsabein and Elsaben are Christian names.
